Breakdown's design much better suits Outback than Swerve. If we ever even get that. Let alone Breakdown himself.

So, to be clear on the Dark Energon decos...

Bumblebee is Goldbug
Wheeljack is Slicer
Knock Out is Waspinator
Starscream is Skywarp
Megatron is based off of all the recent black, purple, and red "Shadow" repaints
Optimus is based off of that G2 Optimus toy whose name I forget. Also, he has a mouth.

Right?

Is that TRU Thundercracker in MP-11 Starscream's mold? Damn. Too bad I'll probably never see it at my local TRU.

Not a fan of the battle damage on his delts and the G1 detailing on the top of his alt mode's intakes, but that can be easily remedied with some mild thinner or even painted over.

Don't mean to complain, but Grimlock could stand to be a little more detailed and proportionate in both modes. That, said, I'm still buying him.

Love that shark head pattern! I don't usually buy a mold twice, but that paintjob there is too wicked.
Plus, he has a new head, and I really like vintage aircraft, and you can never have enough of those guns...

YAY WE'RE GETTING SKYQUAKE, a character that was alive in all of one episode!!

YAY WE'RE NOT GETTING BREAKDOWN, a character that has been in ALMOST the entire series thus fair, and who's still able to be used in story arcs.

THAT DESERVES A THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE FOR HASBRO!!!

they turned the combaticons into the wreckers, Are they ever going to make actual molds that are based off of the actual characters? Or at least pick molds that work as those characters, whirl is the only one that kinda works but you can turn any helicopter into him.

fair point. but the colour scheme fits Devastator better than it does Waspy. Plus, Knock Out is a medic type guy. When you're from a race of robots, being a medic kinda means being an engineer or technician or something too, right?

Not necessarily. Engineers and technicians build things in addition to repairing them. Doctors and medics just repair. And just because they're robots don't mean they can be built or replicated. Not saying the TFP Transformers can't, but being what we'd call "robots" wouldn't matter.

Regardless, repairing a busted leg is leagues different than erecting a monument. :-B

fine. you're right, there's absolutely no way I could be. please just stop talking now.

Holy cow.... How disenchanted I feel. I'm glad PRIME is getting quite a bit of love in the figure department, and I'm pleased Hasbro are righting some wrongs with the First Editions.

As far as Generations goes: what a load of crap. A load of cheap remolds and repaints and a collection of tiny cheap looking figures based on a game. I'll pick up Grimlock in the vain hope we'll get the rest of the Dinobots. If not he'll be out on his ass and Masterpiece will hold his place.

How disappointing. At least it saves me plenty of money for Hot Toys stuff.

Actually, Knock Out DOES seem to be inspired by Constructicon colors...

That's kind of bland though. I wish it was a specific Constructicon, and not just styled like them.

Edit: Actually, seeing as how Knock Out is a car, and not a construction vehicle, and doesn't have red eyes, yet features a predominant green with purple deco; couldn't he be homaging just "Wasp" from animated? Before he became Waspinator, he was a predominantly green and purple car!

It's weird that Laserbeak has a robot mode, but at the same, I've seen some good "bird mode" configurations for the mold.

Besides, Mindwipe is lonely!

Which reminds me, mine doesn't have a right foot (*insert long story involving a jackass ebay seller*), any suggestions on a decent fix that doesn't include the words "use his shin strut to make him stand," as that's what I'm doing now.

Regardless on how many homages these DEs have, the only one I'd most likely pick up is Megatron, just for the sake of making him my TFP Galvatron. Otherwise, overly used translucent plastic.

From the perspective of someone that never read the UK comics(so I don't know what he was really like)... that seems kinda vein. Engineering your minions' combined form to look like yourself? Damn. Even tattooing your signature on their skidplates would be enough. This is too much.

Looks to me more like they designed the head of their gestalt's form to pay homage to their beloved Autobot leader and father figure. ;)

Then again, who are we kidding here? These are the Aligned Wreckers. Xaaron doesn't seem to even exist in this continuity.

Maybe. Let's keep an eye out in the bios of the Wreckers and Ultra Magnus toys.

Though, he might be a bit different, like how IDW used him. Then again, he was still a politician there, so if Aligned Xaaron's a politician too, then he might already be dead since the High Council seemed to be the only ruling political body of Cybertron before the war and all the High Councilors are either dead or Decepticons (or unknown generics using SZP's body like in WFC).
